European Social Fund (ESF)

Wednesday 29th October 2014

A community grant of £15,000 has been awarded to the Dudley based Centre for Equality & Diveristy (CfED), from the European Union European Social Fund.

The fund, administrated by the Heart of England Commnity Foundation will be used to support activities of the Enterprising Women in Employment project that will enable migrant women and those from the Black and Minority Ethnic communities (BME) to access employment and training opportunities. The grant will pay for, project co-ordination, volunteers, employability skills workshops and participants resources learning packs.

Mushtaq Hussain Chair of CfED said 'This project will help to increase the employability of at least 30 women from various communities across the borough of Dudley. By the end of May 2015 women who have participated in the project will have increased levels of confidence; they will be better communicators and overall be in a much better position to make a tangible contribution to the local economy'. Hussain goes on to say 'Our goal is to help women achieve the success they want, by empowering, connecting, training, inspiring, promoting and supporting them in whatever way we can'.

The project is now taking enquiries and registration details from potential participants. Anyone who requires more information can either call into our base at 16a Stone Street DY1 1NS or call us on 01384 456166.
